PURPOSE:To apply ink jet recording imparting high image quality to general-purpose recording paper regardless of paper quality, by depositing a recording liquid droplet to preheated recording paper and holding the recording paper in a heated state even after recording. CONSTITUTION:A recording liquid droplet is deposited to recording paper preheated in a state built up by the surface tension thereof and the recording paper is held in a heated state even after ink jet recording to rapidly evaporate the liquid component contained in the recording liquid droplet to reduce the volume of the recording liquid droplet, and the solvent and dye mainly remaining on the recording paper is fixed to the recording paper. The solvent component other than the dye mainly remainng on the recording paper at the time of fixing under heating is desirable glycerine, diethylene glycol, thiodiglycol or a mixture thereof and the total mixing ratio thereof with the recording liquid is disirably 5-20% and the desirably pH of the recording liquid is 6-10, and the preheating and heating temps of the recording paper is desirably within a range from the min. b.p. temp. of the solvent contained in the recording liquid to 140 deg.C. By this method, ink jet recording imparting high image quality can be performed without generating the unnecessary blur of the recording liquid or the wrinkles of the recording paper. |
