<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a streaming receiving device and a streaming receiving method capable of reliably receiving an image streaming at a reservation time using a wireless LAN. <P>SOLUTION: The streaming receiving device receives a piece of streaming content from a streaming delivery server via a wireless access point. The streaming receiving device includes: a reservation control section that executes a recording reservation of the streaming content and calculates the starting time of the device; a connection establishment section that establishes the connection with the wireless access point at the calculated starting time; and a communication holding section that transmits a connection confirmation command to the wireless access point at a predetermined timing.
