The strip includes a metal filament (13) which extends along the length of the packing. The filament is arranged to serve as an antenna for an electronic surveillance system using RF detection. The filament is mounted on a self-adhesive support band (11) which is intended to be glued by its adhesive face to the inside of the packing (10). The packing layer (10) can be formed from a heat-shrink material. In an alternative arrangement, the filament is embedded within the body of the packing material.
