PURPOSE: A sprinkling system and an operation method thereof for lowering the temperature of a heat exchanger are provided with high durability to prevent a water supply pipe from being frozen. CONSTITUTION: A sprinkling system for lowering the temperature of a heat exchanger comprises a controller(20), a heat exchanger(60), and a nozzle unit(50). The controller is closely attached to the indoor unit(10) of an air conditioner. The heat exchanger is installed outside for exchanging temperature. The nozzle unit is attached to the rear side of the hear exchanger, and a water supply pipe(32) sprays coolant through a plurality of nozzles(51) for lowering the temperature of the heat exchanger. Users control the power switch and timer to spay the coolant to the water supply pipe and nozzle. A thermometer is formed at one side of the heat exchanger to measure temperature.
