Provided are a method and device for determining a chromaticity prediction mode candidate set. The method includes: determining the number of prediction modes included in a luminance prediction unit located in the same coding unit as a chromaticity prediction unit; and determining a chromaticity prediction mode candidate set of the chromaticity prediction unit according to the number of prediction modes included in the luminance prediction unit. The embodiments of the present invention can improve coding efficiency.
