The device (D) has a storage unit (MS1) storing data representative of known type of equipment of a vehicle (V). An information providing unit (MF) is arranged for accessing the storage unit for providing the stored data to mobile communication equipment (EC1) i.e. mobile phone in the event of request for the data after an accident. The information providing unit provides supplementary data representative of values of parameters of the vehicle before the accident, where the parameters include the number of persons on board, remaining fuel, and the percentage of battery charge. An independent claim is also included for a mobile communication equipment.
