PURPOSE: A remote monitoring system monitoring a digital protective relay and a connecting method thereof are provided to offer authentication information or to remotely monitor user information in real time for changing the setting of the digital protective relay. CONSTITUTION: A digital protective relay(100) recognizes a user card storing user information and transmits the user information. A remote monitoring server(200) is connected with the digital protective relay through a network, and receives the user information. A remote monitoring server determines whether the server authorizes the user information of the digital protective relay to be accessed or not, and transmits a remote supervisory signal to the digital protective relay according to a result.
