Disclosed are an information sending method and a gateway. The method comprises: a gateway obtaining user online information; the gateway intercepting a DNS domain name query message, forging that a DNS server returns a domain name resolving response, and sending the domain name resolving response to a network element of a core network or a user terminal browser; the gateway receiving a user HTTP request returned by the network element of the core network or the user terminal browser; the gateway querying the user online information according to the user HTTP request, appending the user online information used as HTTP header information into the user HTTP request, and sending the user HTTP request appended with the HTTP header information to an Internet content and service provider. The technical solution according to embodiments of the present invention solves the problem that an Internet content and service provider cannot obtain user online information of a mobile terminal user.
