Disclosed is a preamble detection method, comprising: dividing a preamble chip into a plurality of blocks of the chip; carrying out relevant accumulation processing on the blocks of the chip to obtain multiple groups of signature component partial products; simultaneously carrying out compensation processing of positive frequency deviation and compensation processing of negative frequency deviation on multiple groups of signature component partial products, so as to respectively obtain multiple groups of compensation results of the positive frequency deviation and the negative frequency deviation; and simultaneously carrying out coherent accumulation processing, phase rotation processing, signature matching processing and plural modulo processing, and dual antenna merging processing on the multiple groups of compensation results of the positive frequency deviation and the negative frequency deviation. The invention also provides a preamble detection system. According to the technical solution of the present invention, the preamble detection in a wideband code division multiple access system can be efficiently implemented.
