The method involves selecting an interesting point in a video image. The geo-coordinates of interesting point on the basis of camera position, camera alignment and three-dimensional land model of video camera through a recorded area. The interesting point of another camera in video image is selected repeatedly and geo-coordinates of interesting point are calculated. The error of camera position, camera alignment and three-dimensional land model of video camera is determined based on repeated selection of same interesting point and appropriate geo-coordinates are computed. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device determining error in geo-coordinates of selected point in video image acquired from video camera; and (2) a computer program for determining error in geo-coordinates of selected point in video image acquired from video camera.
