<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet storage device achieving space-saving after securing high operability. <P>SOLUTION: In the paper sheet storage device including a paper sheet loading plate, a cursor, and a cursor lever, the cursor lever 34 is shaped in an L-shape in lateral view with a horizontal part 34A and a vertical part 34B. A fulcrum 34a is disposed at one side part of the horizontal part 34A, and a lock claw 34b is disposed at the other end side of the horizontal part 34A. An operation part 34c is disposed at the vertical part 34B, and a spring 35 is compressed and provided between the cursor 33 and the cursor lever 34. The distance X from the fulcrum 34a to the lock claw 34b is set so as to be substantially the same as the distance Y from the lock claw 34b to the operation part 34c.
