The present invention provides a mandrel used during a rolling process in a manufacture of jelly roll-type electrode assembly out of a long sheet-type laminate, comprising an anode/separator/cathode structure. The mandrel is characterized in that the shape of the vertical cross section with respect to the central rotational axis is elliptical; the mandrel is separated into a first mandrel part on one side and a second mandrel part on the other side, with respect to the central part, into which the end of the sheet-type laminate is inserted and secured, wherein each of the first mandrel part and the second mandrel part comprises a main part comprising an area into which the sheet-type laminate is inserted and interlocked, and an interchangeable part which is attached to and detached from the main part, and comprises the end of the long axis of the mandrel.
