<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a random number generating device and method capable of generating highly-random random numbers using a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The random number generating device is provided with: a receiver unit 100 which has a receiver mechanism 101 for receiving energy transmitted from a transmitter unit 20 without making contact therewith and transforms the energy received by the receiver mechanism 101 into a reception voltage VIN; a voltage controlled oscillator 110 for outputting, on the basis of the reception voltage VIN, an oscillating output signal CKIN; and a pseudo random number generator 120 for generating pseudo random numbers that vary according to the oscillation frequency of the output signal CKIN of the voltage controlled oscillator 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
