<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data cartridge device allowing confirmation of the attitude of a cartridge body deformed when impact exceeding an allowable value is applied in a short time and subsequently allowing easy recognition that the data cartridge device cannot be mounted in a body for the data cartridge device. <P>SOLUTION: A data cartridge device 10 which is detachably mounted in the body for the data cartridge device constituting a magnetic disk device comprises: a cartridge shell 11 and a cartridge body 17 which is stored in the cartridge shell 11 via a cushion member and has a connector 17A at one end portion. The cushion member includes first members 15 and second members. In each of the first members 15, holding grooves 15A and 16A for holding each end edge portion of a width direction of the cartridge body 17 by frictional force are formed. Each of the holding grooves 15A and 16A is formed into an inclined groove having a shape expanding from a base point P1 toward an end point P2.
