PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to prevent to prevent generation of afterimage due to a liquid crystal alignment film. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises: a step of preparing polyamic acid by reacting one carboxylic dianhydride selected from carboxylic dianhydrides represented by chemical formula 1, and one diamine selected from diamines represented by chemical formula 2-4; and a step of imidization of the polyamic acid. A liquid crystal alignment film is formed by sintering the liquid crystal alignment agent to a membrane state. A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises: a thin film transistor array board(110) on which pixel electrodes are formed; a color filter board(150); and a liquid crystal layer(180) inserted between the boards.
