The present invention makes it possible to deprotect a t-butyldimethylsilyl-protected alcoholic hydroxyl group without affecting an acid-unstable functional group. This deprotection method comprises subjecting an alcohol the hydroxyl group of which is protected with a t-butyldimethylsilyl group to deprotection in the presence of a solvent and in the presence of an acid or an acid salt, with the pKa values of the acid and acid salt in water being 1.0 to 3.0.
