An light therapy apparatus (200) is defined to include a UV light source (110) secured to a casing (130). A shroud (160) is placed over an exposed portion of the UV light source and is secured or attached around the perimeter of the casing end. The shroud includes a rigid portion covering the light source such that the shroud can maintain its shape. Since the UV light source can generate a significant amount of heat, the casing includes an internal fan (170). Various tubing configurations may be used to help direct the air flow from the fan around the UV light source. In addition, a vent opening (162) in the shroud was found to reduce the temperature of the shroud to prevent damage to a person's user the apparatus.
