<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change an office in use to such a layout that the productivity is improved. <P>SOLUTION: An office layout auxiliary system 10 which assists in layout change of the office in use includes: a room entry/exiting management part 12 which manages entry and exiting of the respective departments in the office and records a passage history; a closeness calculation part 14 which calculates closeness between the departments based upon the passage history recorded in the room entry/exiting management part 12; and a layout plan making part 16 which makes a layout plan based upon the closeness calculated by the closeness calculation part 14. Comings and goings of persons between the departments in the actual office can be grasped from the passage history of the room entering/exiting management part 12, so the closeness indicative of correlation between the departments can be calculated.
