摘要 <p>The molten surface (27) of a molten metal within a mold is monitored constantly by a camera (25). The camera (25) photographs the molten surface obliquely from above the mold and within a range such that casting operations and the like are not affected. Various analysis frames, such as an analysis band (35), a molten metal pattern (37), and a pouring-monitoring unit (43), are set with respect to the image photographed by the camera (25). The analysis band (35) includes the molten surface (molten metal part (31c)), and is set with a prescribed width such that the direction of fluctuation in the molten surface is the longitudinal direction. The width of the analysis band (35) is set as large as possible within a range such that it does not overlap the metal tapping part (molten metal part (31a)). The rate of change of binary data within the analysis band (35) is calculated by means of an analysis unit.</p>
