<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiband antenna capable of transmitting and receiving radio waves at multi-frequencies and with a wide band. <P>SOLUTION: A multiband antenna dealing with transmission and reception waves at multi-frequencies and with a wide band includes a shank connected to a single feeding part and common to a lower frequency band and a higher frequency band, and a feeding element for the lower frequency band and a feeding element for the higher frequency band branched out from the shank using a frequency band as a unit. The feeding element for the lower frequency band and the feeding element for the higher frequency band are antenna elements having asymmetrical structure. By the above structure, a frequency in the lower frequency band is handled by distributing current in the shank and the feeding element for the lower frequency band, and a frequency in the higher frequency band is handled by distributing current in the shank and the feeding element for the higher frequency band.
