<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection accuracy of connection failure between communication devices. <P>SOLUTION: A first maintenance entry point (MEP) device 10 transmits a first operation administration and maintenance (OAM) frame to which a value corresponding to a maintenance entity group (MEG) attribute is set and a second OAM frame in which at least a part of bits of the first OAM frame are reversed to a second MEP device 12.
