Disclosed is container closure which has an inner core with a non-cylindrical profile and an outer layer concentrically surrounding the inner core. The outer layer is adjacent the inner core and meets the inner core at an interface area. The inner core and the outer layer have different compositions. The outer profile of the combined inner core and the outer layers is substantially cylindrical. The inner core and the outer layer are both present at every cross-section along the entire length of the closure. The radial distance of the interface area from a central axis of the closure varies continuously along the length of the closure.
