PURPOSE: A fuel cell system and a starting method thereof is provided to solve a water freezing problem in pipe at initial starting in low temperature below zero, and an air supply problem in low temperature. CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell system and comprises: a fuel cell stack(10) generating electric energy; a fuel reformer(20) generating hydrogen-containing reformed gas through a reformed reaction of fuel, water and air, and supplying the reformed gas to a fuel cell stack; a fuel feeder(30) for supplying the fuel to the fuel reformer; a water feeder(40) for supplying the water to the fuel reformer; an air feeder(50) for supplying air to the fuel cell stack; a preheater(60) for pre-heating air and water at initial starting the fuel cell system at low temperature below zero. |
