<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying unit for plate panels capable of stably conveying a plurality of vertically placed plate panels while reducing costs. <P>SOLUTION: The conveying unit for vertically placed plate panels includes: a rectangular pallet 12; a pipe-like sleeve 14 having a rectangular section lower in height than plate panels; four corner angles 18 having an L-shape section and applied to the four corners of the pipe-like sleeve from the outer side; and a pair of spacers including a plurality of grooves 30 which are parallel to each other at prescribed intervals in a longitudinal direction on one surface and which are arranged so that the surfaces are disposed opposite each other. The plurality of grooves have a width for receiving side edges of the vertically placed plate panels accommodated in the pipe-like sleeve. The pair of spacers include a first lower spacer 34 positioned at an upper surface of the pallet, a second lower spacer 38 positioned at an upper edge of an inner surface 36 of the pipe-like sleeve, and an upper spacer 40 fixed so as to bridge the upper edges of the corner angle.
