<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce banding without deteriorating the gradation property of an image. <P>SOLUTION: A threshold setting means 104 sets predetermined thresholds Th1, Th2, Th3 which specify a large drop, a middle drop and a small drop that are dot sizes for discharging droplets of dot sizes corresponding to image data. When the image data is other than a photograph, the threshold setting means 104 reduces the predetermined threshold Th1 of a small drop just after discharging droplets of the large drop. After the large drop is discharged, discharge of the small drop becomes easier to pixels existing at the same coordinate as pixels to which the large drop is output, whereby the small drop is discharged to the same coordinate as the large drop. After the small drop is discharged to the circumference of the droplets of the large drop, the threshold setting means 104 reduces and returns the threshold of the middle drop to the predetermined threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
