<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of beneficiating a copper-containing material which enables separating arsenic minerals efficiently from a copper-containing material containing arsenic by floatation. <P>SOLUTION: The beneficiation method comprises grinding a copper-containing material containing arsenic and adding water to the ground product to obtain a slurry, adding a floatation agent consisting of an inhibitor, a bubbling agent and a scavenger to the slurry and controlling the amount of air blown by using a column floatation machine so that the value of the amount of air blown divided by the horizontal cross section of the inside of the column, or Jg value, is in the range of 1.0-3.0 cm/sec and adjusting the flow rate of froth cleaning water so that the value of the difference between the flow rate of froth cleaning water and the water flow rate within the froth divided by the horizontal cross section of the inside of the column, or Jb value, is kept in the range from -0.1 to +0.1 cm/sec. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
