This electricity-generation system is provided with: a fuel-cell system (101) that has a fuel cell (11) and a housing (12) that contains said fuel cell (11); a control device (102); an exhaust passage (70) designed so as to discharge an exhaust gas from the electricity-generation system to outside the housing (12); an air-intake passage (78) designed so as to supply air to the electricity-generation system; a blockage detector provided inside an air-intake/exhaust mechanism and/or inside the housing (12); and a ventilator that circulates the air inside the housing (12) and expels air that has been circulated to the exhaust passage (70). The control device (102) is designed so as to stop the electricity-generation system if, while the electricity-generation system is running, a blockage is detected in the exhaust passage (70) on the basis of information obtained from the blockage detector(s).
