The present invention relates to the use of waste water and/or raw water for the precipitation of sulphate originating from a gas desulphurisation process, as a substrate for sulphur-oxidizing bacteria and as a scrubber liquid as well as processes for desulphurising gas and providing a substrate for the sulphur-oxidizing bacteria.
