PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device is provided to improve data transmission efficiency by transmitting data using a plurality of data global lines. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit(110) comprises a plurality of planes. A data error correcting unit(120) generates a parity bit corresponding to input data by processing the input data from an external host in a data programming operation and transmits the generated parity bit to the memory unit. The data error correcting unit corrects an error bit of the output data by processing the output data transmitted from the memory unit in a data reading operation and the parity bit corresponding to the output data. |
