<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AV apparatus capable of reducing the power consumption of the self apparatus when the apparatus is not an active device concerning the AV apparatus to be used as a source device. <P>SOLUTION: An AV apparatus constructs a network complying with a high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) standard together with multiple other devices including a sink device, and outputs an AV signal as a source device to the sink device. The AV apparatus includes: a recognition part for recognizing that the self apparatus is not an active device by receiving a consumer electronics control (CEC) message which indicates that any one of the other devices is the active device; and a power saving operation part for performing a power saving operation to reduce the power consumption of the self apparatus when the self apparatus is not the active device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
