FILTER WITH MEMORY, COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND PRESSURE SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately measuring the pressure and/or flow of a filter element at various points within a filter housing that solves disadvantages of the conventional system and method.

SOLUTION: A pressure sensor 30 is installed in the filter element 10 and a wireless transmitter 40 is also located near the pressure sensor 30 or integrated with the pressure sensor. The wireless transmitter 40 can be encapsulated in a single integrated component together with the pressure sensor 30. Alternatively, the transmitter 40 and the sensor 30 can be separated, and in communication with each other via an electrical signal or the like. A wireless receiver 60 located outside the filter housing 20 is used to communicate with the wireless transmitter and an RFID reader or base station is used as the wireless receiver. The wireless transmitter 40 such as the RFID reader tag can be coupled with the pressure sensor 30.
