Provided is a stereoscopic image display device which, by means of an embodiment, displays a multi-view image. With this device a person information acquisition unit acquires person information that includes the position of each person viewing a stereoscopic object. On the basis of the aforementioned person information and display parameters, a weighting calculation unit calculates weightings that express the degree of goodness of the stereoscopic view as estimated when a multi-view image is displayed for each person in accordance with the aforementioned display parameters. An image determination unit selects the aforementioned display parameters so as to maximize the total weightings for each person calculated by the aforementioned weighting calculation unit, and outputs a multi-view image in accordance with the selected display parameters. An image display unit displays the multi-view image that is output from the aforementioned image determination unit.
