PURPOSE: A power control apparatus of a port multiplier and a method thereof are provided to block the power supply of a connection unit which is connected with a device. CONSTITUTION: A third connection unit(13) is connected to a host. A power supplying unit supplies power to a first connection unit, a second connection unit, and the third connection unit. In case an operation mode of the first and second devices is switched into a sleep mode, a control unit sets up first and second devices. The control unit switches the operation mode into a sleep mode.
