PURPOSE: A composition containing TGF-beta 1 is provided to reduce DNA damage due to radiation exposure or irradiation. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating cell damage due to radiation exposure or irradiation contains 0.01-50 wt% of TGF-beta1(transforming growth factor-beta 1) as an active ingredient. A pharmaceutical composition further contains a carrier, excipient, or diluents. The pharmaceutical composition is manufactured in the form of powder, granules, tablets, capsules, suspensions, emulsion, syrup, aerosol, suppository, or sterilized injection solution.
