A lamppost 1 has a mains power connection 8 and a power inlet 3 to which a vehicle may be connected by a flexible lead. The vehicle may be equipped with power generating or power storage means which can transfer power to the lamppost 1. A charge controller 5, battery 6, inverter 7, and control/distribution panel 9 may also be provided. Payment may be made by smartcard reader 10. Outlying posts 16 may also be provided. |
