<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress drawing-in of an ink into the inside of a head that causes an ejection fault on suction recovery. <P>SOLUTION: A protrusion 201-1 of an absorbing material is provided on a part of the upper surface of an absorber 201 so as to face an ejection surface where an ejection opening is not provided. On the absorber 201, there is a gap 201-2 between the protrusion 201-1 and the ejection surface 302 facing the same when a cap member 202 seals the ejection surface 302 of a liquid ejection head 301.
