The present invention relates to a horizontal alignment mode liquid crystal display device comprising a negative A-plate having a layer indicating a refractive index anisotropy of positive A. More particularly, the present invention relates to a horizontal alignment mode liquid crystal device comprising a polarizing plate, as the upper or lower polarizing plate, in which a stretchable positive A-plate having specific optical characteristics or a negative A-plate having a coating layer with horizontally aligned nematic liquid crystals is bonded to a liquid crystal cell side surface of a polarizer, thus enabling the liquid crystal display device to be easily manufactured with a high yield rate, and also improving the characteristics of contrast ratio, viewing angle and color shift. |
