<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire formed with at least one closed sipe in a block defined by circumferential grooves and lateral grooves on a tread, which allows large compression deformation of the block and can demonstrate excellent on-ice performance by securing a satisfactory ground contact area, even if the tread circumferential length of the block is increased for preventing reduction of the block ground contact area caused by uneven wear. <P>SOLUTION: The blocks 10a, 14a formed with the closed sipes 17 are provided with one or more concave parts 18 opening on the lateral grooves 9, 13, depressed from a block surface to half the height of the block or deeper, and not blocked in a road surface contact area to be adjacent to at least one of the lateral grooves 9, 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
