CUTTING DEVICE, METHOD FOR CUTTING WORKPIECE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HONEYCOMB FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of making a cut plane sufficiently flat.

SOLUTION: The cutting device is provided with: an annular band saw 12; a band saw driving unit 20 that causes the band saw 12 to circulate while forming a section 12c that is for cutting a columnar workpiece 70 and that is a section at which the band saw 12 moves linearly; a workpiece-holding section 50 that is capable of holding the workpiece 70 in a manner so that a perpendicular line to the side surface 12s of the band saw 12 at the section 12c is parallel to the axial direction of the workpiece 70; and a moving section 60 for cutting that causes the workpiece-holding section 50 relatively to approach the blade 12b of the band saw 12 at the section 12c. The workpiece-holding section 50 has a plurality of clamps 52 that clamp the outer peripheral surface 70s of the workpiece 70, and the clamps 52 are disposed spaced from each other in a direction parallel to the perpendicular line to the side surface 12s of the band saw 12 at the section 12c.
