<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably supply a fuel for power generation to a power generating means in a compact power supply system used for a portable equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel for power generation stored in the main tank in a fuel cartridge by driving and controlling a first pump is transported to a spare tank having an impregnating material by controlling the first pump according to detected results of a residual amount detecting means of the spare tank. Then, by driving and controlling a second pump, the amount required for power generation of a fuel cell out of the fuel of power generation stored in the spare tank is transported to a chemical reaction part.
