<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of continuing a printing process without subjecting a medium transport mechanism and a print mechanism to emergency stop, when a medium size error is detected and the size of the next subsequently-fed medium is normal. <P>SOLUTION: This printer includes a paper feed portion for sequentially feeding media based on a print job, a transport portion for transporting the medium to form a toner image based on the print job on the fed medium, and an ejection port for ejecting the transported medium to the outside the printer. The printer further includes a size detection portion for detecting the size of the medium fed by the paper feed portion, and a size rightness determination portion for comparing the detected size of the medium with a medium set size preset in the print job to determine coincidence/non-coincidence between both the sizes, and is configured such that, when non-coincidence is determined by the size rightness determination portion, the medium is transported to the transport portion and ejected from the ejection port, the size detection portion is caused to detect the size of the next medium, and when the next size is determined to coincide with the medium set size, a toner image to be formed on the medium having the size without coinciding with the medium set size is formed on a new medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
