The device (1) for phototrophic cultivation of microalgae according to the present invention comprises two meander-arranged skew cultivation surfaces (2, 5), disposed so that the first cultivation surface (2) is arranged higher than the second cultivation surface (5) and the outflow of the higher arranged first cultivation surface (2) follows up with the inflow of the lower arranged second cultivation surface (5). A culture suspension enriched with COi2All flows down over the surface of both the skew cultivation surfaces (2, 5). In the upper section of the higher arranged first cultivation surface (2), there is arranged a distribution tube (3) for discharge of the culture suspension onto the first cultivation surface (2), below which, there is arranged a collecting trough (4) for collection and discharge of the culture suspension from the z first cultivation surface (2) and supply of the culture suspension onto the second cultivation surface (5) whereby a collecting tank (6) for collection and distribution of the culture suspension is arranged below the second cultivation surface (5). The inclination of the first cultivation surface (2) as well as the inclination of the second cultivation surface (5) is adjustable independently on each other, wherein the height of the culture suspension layer flowing down on both the first and second cultivation surfaces (2, 5) is controllable by adjusting the inclination of the first and/or second cultivation surface (2, 5) and/or by adjusting the flow rate of the culture suspension through a pump (7), wherein the pump (7) is arranged on a piping (13) that connects the collecting tank (6) with the distribution tube (3). The device (1) is provided with a sensing element for measuring photosynthetic activity of microalgae comprised within the culture medium.
