PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image system is provided to reduce drops in quality or brightness due to warping of an optical axis. CONSTITUTION: A stereoscopic image display device(100a) outputs linearly polarized light. A phase difference plate(200) converts the outputted linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light. The phase difference plate is installed on the frontal side of the stereoscopic image display device. Phase difference plates are attached onto the frontal side of liquid crystal shutter glasses(300). The phase difference plates of the liquid crystal shutter glasses restore the circularly polarized light to linearly polarized light.
