METHOD FOR PRODUCING A METHYLENE DISULFONATE COMPOUND

<p>Disclosed is a method for producing a methylene disulfonate compound by reacting, in the presence of an acid and a dehydrating agent, a formaldehyde compound and at least one type of alkane disulfonic acid salt selected from a group consisting of: an alkane disulfonic acid alkali metal salt represented by a specific formula; and an alkane disulfonic acid alkaline earth metal salt. By means of the disclosed production method, the methylene disulfonate compound can be produced easily and economically.</p>
