<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder liner reduced in weight by reducing the wall thickness thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The cylinder liner (10) includes: first cooling bores (15) formed obliquely upward toward the inside of the wall of the cylinder liner from the outer peripheral surface thereof; and a first circumferential groove (16) formed in the upper end surface of the cylinder liner (10) at the center in the plate thickness direction thereof.
