PURPOSE: A light emitting diode which includes an electrode extending part is provided to prevent the exfoliation of an electrode pad and the electrode extending part on a transparent electrode layer, thereby improving reliability of the light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION: A second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer(29) is located on a first conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer(25). An active layer is arranged between the first conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer and the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer. A transparent electrode layer(31) is located on the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer. The transparent electrode layer comprises one or more opening parts exposing the second conductivity type nitride semiconductor layer. A first electrode pad(111) and a second electrode pad(121) are located on the transparent electrode layer. An electrode extension part(123,125) is extended on the second electrode pad. |
