摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode-electrolyte integrally formed membrane electrode assembly in which the thickness of the electrolyte membrane can be made sufficiently thin while using ceramics in a porous substrate, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: In the membrane electrode assembly, the porous substrate is constructed of ceramic particles jointed by a thermosetting resin, thereby the porous substrate is obtained by heating by a hardening temperature of the thermosetting resin at about 130&deg; which is by far lower than the calcination temperature of an ordinary ceramic film. Therefore, the ceramic film 32 can be formed on the surface of a catalyst layer 16 without accompanying deterioration of the catalyst layer 16 installed on the electrode 20 and decomposition or the like of a polymer electrolyte such as PFS added in the catalyst layer 16, thereby the thickness of the electrolyte layer 12 can made sufficiently thin while using the ceramics in the porous substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
