<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooker having a special preboiling function for hardly causing mushy and spilling troubles. <P>SOLUTION: The cooker 2 comprises a container 1 for storing a cooked object, a heating coil 4 for heating the container 1, a heating control device 6 for controlling the heating coil 4, and a temperature sensor 5 for measuring the temperature of the container 1. Herein, first preboiling course and a second preboiling course are provided for preboiling the cooked object. The first preboiling course and the second preboiling course are different in detecting temperature and heating method depending on what is the cooked object, and also different in boiling or not. A course selecting means 8 is operated for selecting the preboiling course corresponding to the cooked object.
