PATTERN MATCHING METHOD, IMAGE PROCESSOR AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern matching method, an image processor and a computer program capable of performing pattern matching with high accuracy without being influenced by deformation of an edge or fluctuations of contrast.

SOLUTION: The pattern matching method or device that executes pattern matching on an image with the use of a template formed on the basis of design data, obtains a feature amount of the image with regard to an inside area and/or outside area partitioned by line segments defining a contour of a pattern, and set positions where the feature amount satisfies predetermined conditions as a matching position, a matching position candidate or a wrong matching position.
