<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic capacity sensor and an information input device capable of improving accuracy of position detection in two axis directions, and capable of preventing reduced sensitivity due to existence of wiring within a detection area. <P>SOLUTION: A first electrode 100 includes: a first area 120 whose height size in parallel with a Y axis direction perpendicular to an X axis direction gradually increases in the X axis direction; a second area 130 whose height size gradually decreases relative to the X axis direction; and a third area 110 which makes the first area 120 and the second area 130 mutually confronted with each other. A second electrode 200 is configured to be confronted with the first area 120 in the Y axis direction, with its height size in parallel with the Y axis direction gradually decreasing relative to the X axis direction.
